Welcome!

Welcome to Caps 'Round the Clock, a blog covering the Washington Capitals and the NHL. In season, I update the Blog after every practice and on game day with Caps news and information, and then provide a recap and analysis after each contest. I also write a periodical Prospect Watch and weekly feature pieces on the state of the Men in Red and other things Capitals. And of course, I will post videos and tidbits from around the League and offer my two cents as the season wears on. In the offseason, I write a Report Card for each player, and will keep you updated on all the news about the Caps through the summer. I'm glad you're here, and hope you come back!

Practice: May 2

The Washington Capitals were on ice this morning for a practice following last night's crushing loss to the Lightning.  Some updates from Kettler Capitals Iceplex:

Today was an optional skate, so many of the players who played last night did not take part. The only ones who did were Alzner, Neuvirth, Chimera, Sturm, Bradley, and Erskine.  Dennis Wideman continues to practice, but there is still no timetable for his needed return to the Washington lineup.
It should be noted that Semyon Varlamov was called in to Bruce Boudreau's office after practice, which could indicate a possible switch in goal.  More on this if/when it becomes available.

The Caps will fly to Tampa this evening.  That's all for now.
Information from Sky Kerstein was used in this post.
