Welcome!

Welcome to Caps 'Round the Clock, a blog covering the Washington Capitals and the NHL. In season, I update the Blog after every practice and on game day with Caps news and information, and then provide a recap and analysis after each contest. I also write a periodical Prospect Watch and weekly feature pieces on the state of the Men in Red and other things Capitals. And of course, I will post videos and tidbits from around the League and offer my two cents as the season wears on. In the offseason, I write a Report Card for each player, and will keep you updated on all the news about the Caps through the summer. I'm glad you're here, and hope you come back!

Updates From the Morning Skate

The Washington Capitals were on ice this morning at 11 for their pre-game skate.  Some updates from the St. Pete Times Forum:

The Capitals will indeed keep the same lineup from game two intact.  This means that Matt Hendricks will be scratched again along with DJ King, Tyler Sloan, Jay Beagle, Sean Collins, and all of the Hershey call-ups.
Also of note is that defenseman Dennis Wideman is not on the trip with his teammates.  He is currently rehabbing from hematoma, and this all but officially rules him out for tomorrow night's game (we have seen people join the Caps on road trips before).
Michal Neuvirth has been confirmed as tonight's starter for the Caps.  He will face off against Dwayne Roloson.
On the Tampa side, Simon Gagne and Pavel Kubina both will not play with their respective injuries, believed to be a head ailment for Gagne and a back ailment for Kubina.

That's all for now.  Big game tonight.  Check back after it.
