Tomas Vokoun returned to the ice after missing the last two practices and one game (sitting on the bench, at least) because of a lower-body injury. He skated for about 20 minutes in full pads before practice began and then took part in the session. He was joined by both Michal Neuvirth and Braden Holtby, who was recalled Sunday. At 2 PM, Chuck Gormley of CSN Washington reported that Holtby was headed back to Hershey, which is obviously good news regarding Vokoun's health.
The lines were as follows: Ovechkin-Laich-Johansson, Chimera-Perreault-Semin, Hendricks-Beagle-Brouwer, and Kunble-Aucoin-Halpern-Ward. All eight defenseman were on ice. In addition, it was revealed that Nicklas Backstrom is in Sweden to spend time with his family, as he has been for almost a week. He is not expected back until Sunday as he attempts to recover from a concussion.
That's all for now. As always, follow me on Twitter here for news and updates.
