Welcome!

Welcome to Caps 'Round the Clock, a blog covering the Washington Capitals and the NHL. In season, I update the Blog after every practice and on game day with Caps news and information, and then provide a recap and analysis after each contest. I also write a periodical Prospect Watch and weekly feature pieces on the state of the Men in Red and other things Capitals. And of course, I will post videos and tidbits from around the League and offer my two cents as the season wears on. In the offseason, I write a Report Card for each player, and will keep you updated on all the news about the Caps through the summer. I'm glad you're here, and hope you come back!

Practice: Feb. 5

The Capitals were on ice for practice at 11:30 this morning as they prepare for tomorrow afternoon's national TV clash with the Penguins.  Some personnel updates from Kettler Capitals Iceplex:

Alexander Semin has been downgraded again and was wearing a gold non-contact jersey during practice. Although he did skate with the rest of the team, he also was not skating on a line, seemingly making it unlikely that we will see him tomorrow afternoon.  Tom Poti skated by himself before the rest of his teammates as he works towards a possible return next week as well.  Other than those two injury notes, there is nothing new to report.  The lines are exactly the same as they were last night: Chimera-Backstrom-Ovechkin, Knuble-Johansson-Hendricks, Laich-Perreault-Beagle, and Steckel-Gordon-Bradley.  DJ King took reps with the fourth line, and he may suit up tomorrow to fend off the Penguins' aggressors (Matt Cooke, cough).

That's all for now.  Updates on Semin, if they come, will be posted later.
