Welcome!

Welcome to Caps 'Round the Clock, a blog covering the Washington Capitals and the NHL. In season, I update the Blog after every practice and on game day with Caps news and information, and then provide a recap and analysis after each contest. I also write a periodical Prospect Watch and weekly feature pieces on the state of the Men in Red and other things Capitals. And of course, I will post videos and tidbits from around the League and offer my two cents as the season wears on. In the offseason, I write a Report Card for each player, and will keep you updated on all the news about the Caps through the summer. I'm glad you're here, and hope you come back!

Practice: Feb. 7

The Capitals were on ice this morning at 11 AM as they prepare to welcome the San Jose Sharks to Verizon Center tomorrow evening.  Some personnel updates from Kettler Capitals Iceplex:

Mike Green did not partake in practice after being struck on the side of the head by a Brooks Orpik slapshot during yesterday's win.  Bruce Boudreau said that Green was being held out as a precaution, and that no serious injury has been discovered, but he is still unsure if Green will play tomorrow.  This has to be the smart course of action, the Capitals cannot afford to mismanage a concussion at this stage of the season.  Tom Poti and Alexander Semin both participated in practice fully and could return to the lineup tomorrow, while Eric Fehr skated before practice with the Capitals' strengh and conditioning coach before the rest of his teammates.  Fehr is still about a week to 10 days away from returning.

Outside of injuries, there is no news out of Kettler involving lines.  All four units that played in yesterday's victory remain intact, and it remains to be seen how they will be altered when Semin returns.

That's all for now.  Check back later.
