Welcome!

Welcome to Caps 'Round the Clock, a blog covering the Washington Capitals and the NHL. In season, I update the Blog after every practice and on game day with Caps news and information, and then provide a recap and analysis after each contest. I also write a periodical Prospect Watch and weekly feature pieces on the state of the Men in Red and other things Capitals. And of course, I will post videos and tidbits from around the League and offer my two cents as the season wears on. In the offseason, I write a Report Card for each player, and will keep you updated on all the news about the Caps through the summer. I'm glad you're here, and hope you come back!

Practice: Nov. 2

The Washington Capitals were on ice for practice Wednesday morning at Kettler Capitals Iceplex following their thrilling 5-4 comeback win over the Ducks on Tuesday night.  Some updates from Kettler:

Mike Green started the day skating with his teammates in full pads, but left after a short time and watched the remainder of practice from the bench with his pads off.  Green has not played in the last three games because of a right ankle injury he suffered October 22 against Detroit. Hey, at least he's skating.
Troy Brouwer did not partake in practice at all after taking a hard fall late in Tuesday's win and presumably injuring his right shoulder, the same one that required offseason surgery this past summer.  His absence, however, was classified as a "maintenance day."
Joel Ward took Brouwer's spot on the top line with Nick Backstrom and Alex Ovechkin.  The other lines were as follows: Eakin-Johansson-Semin, Chimera-Laich-Knuble, and Perreault-Halpern-Hendricks, with DJ King taking extra line rushes with the final unit.
Information from Sky Kerstein was used in this post.
