Welcome!

Welcome to Caps 'Round the Clock, a blog covering the Washington Capitals and the NHL. In season, I update the Blog after every practice and on game day with Caps news and information, and then provide a recap and analysis after each contest. I also write a periodical Prospect Watch and weekly feature pieces on the state of the Men in Red and other things Capitals. And of course, I will post videos and tidbits from around the League and offer my two cents as the season wears on. In the offseason, I write a Report Card for each player, and will keep you updated on all the news about the Caps through the summer. I'm glad you're here, and hope you come back!

Gameday: vs. Anaheim, Dec. 15

The Washington Capitals will once again try to bust out of their worst losing streak in more than three years tonight when they welcome the Anaheim Ducks to Verizon Center.  The Capitals have lost six consecutive games since they defeated the Blues at Scottrade center on December 1.

Bruce Boudreau is expected to give Michal Neuvirth the nod in goal tonight after Semyon Varlamov's debacle in New York on Sunday.  Randy Carlyle, fresh off signing a contract extension, will start Jonas Hiller.

Alexander Semin is considered questionable for tonight's game with an undisclosed injury.  Boyd Gordon will miss 1-2 weeks with another undisclosed injury as well, meaning David Steckel will receive a jersey as the faceoff specialist for at least the next three games.  Mike Green's status for the game has yet to be determined after he missed both games over the weekend with the flu.

Puck drops 7:07-ish.  Check back later.
