Welcome!

Welcome to Caps 'Round the Clock, a blog covering the Washington Capitals and the NHL. In season, I update the Blog after every practice and on game day with Caps news and information, and then provide a recap and analysis after each contest. I also write a periodical Prospect Watch and weekly feature pieces on the state of the Men in Red and other things Capitals. And of course, I will post videos and tidbits from around the League and offer my two cents as the season wears on. In the offseason, I write a Report Card for each player, and will keep you updated on all the news about the Caps through the summer. I'm glad you're here, and hope you come back!

Practice: Oct. 21

The Washington Capitals were on ice Friday for practice following Thursday night's 5-2 win over the Flyers are they prepare to welcome the Red Wings to Verizon Center on Friday night.  Some updates from Kettler Capitals Iceplex:

Jay Beagle missed practice once more and has been downgraded to week-to-week, which all but confirms what many have assumed for the better part of a week: that the fourth liner has a concussion. Every other skater on the roster participated in the skate, but there were no lines, as it was a power play oriented practice.
Michal Neuvirth skated both before and during practice and though he likely will not be ready to back up Tomas Vokoun tomorrow, Bruce Boudreau said he very well may play on next week's western Canada road swing.  Dany Sabourin is still with the team and will back up Vokoun tomorrow if need be.

That's all for today.  Check back later tonight for my game preview.
