Welcome!

Welcome to Caps 'Round the Clock, a blog covering the Washington Capitals and the NHL. In season, I update the Blog after every practice and on game day with Caps news and information, and then provide a recap and analysis after each contest. I also write a periodical Prospect Watch and weekly feature pieces on the state of the Men in Red and other things Capitals. And of course, I will post videos and tidbits from around the League and offer my two cents as the season wears on. In the offseason, I write a Report Card for each player, and will keep you updated on all the news about the Caps through the summer. I'm glad you're here, and hope you come back!

Practice: Oct. 25

The Washington Capitals were on ice for practice Tuesday morning at Kettler Capitals Iceplex as they prepare for Thursday night's game against the Oilers in Edmonton.  Some updates from Arlington:

Mike Green missed practice for the second consecutive day with what is being described as a twisted right ankle.  As a result, Sean Collins has been recalled from Hershey of the AHL.  Collins skated with Jeff Schultz in practice, while Dennis Wideman moved up to play with Roman Hamrlik on the second pairing and the top set of Karl Alzner and John Carlson remained the same.
Jay Beagle was also missed practice for the tenth consecutive time with his mysterious "long term, upper body, inferred to be a concussion, but not really a concussion according to Beagle" injury.  I doubt he travels on the trip, but he may. With the way Mathieu Perreault is playing, he probably won't see the lineup regardless.  All three other forward lines remained the same: Ovechkin-Backstrom-Brouwer, Semin-Johansson-Knuble, and Chimera-Laich-Ward.
The Caps are flying to Edmonton Tuesday afternoon, where they will practice inside Rexall place Wednesday afternoon before their game Thursday night at 9:30.

That's all for now.  Check back later.
