The Washington Capitals were on ice Friday afternoon at Rogers Arena in Vancouver as they prepare to take on the Canucks in that same space Saturday night. Some updates from far out west:
Mike Green missed his fifth consecutive practice with his right ankle issue; he is not expected to play tomorrow night and has not been able to skate comfortably since sustaining the injury. GM George McPhee does not think that Green's injury is a long-term issue at this point. Bruce Boudreau added that he hopes to have the defenseman back next weekend.
Jeff Halpern took a maintenance day off, with DJ King taking his spot on the fourth line. The other three lines remained the same as they have been for the last two weeks: Ovechkin-Backstrom-Brouwer, Semin-Johansson-Knuble, and Ward-Laich-Chimera.
That's all for now. Check back later for my game preview.

Welcome!
Welcome to Caps 'Round the Clock, a blog covering the Washington Capitals and the NHL. In season, I update the Blog after every practice and on game day with Caps news and information, and then provide a recap and analysis after each contest. I also write a periodical Prospect Watch and weekly feature pieces on the state of the Men in Red and other things Capitals. And of course, I will post videos and tidbits from around the League and offer my two cents as the season wears on. In the offseason, I write a Report Card for each player, and will keep you updated on all the news about the Caps through the summer. I'm glad you're here, and hope you come back!
