Welcome!

Welcome to Caps 'Round the Clock, a blog covering the Washington Capitals and the NHL. In season, I update the Blog after every practice and on game day with Caps news and information, and then provide a recap and analysis after each contest. I also write a periodical Prospect Watch and weekly feature pieces on the state of the Men in Red and other things Capitals. And of course, I will post videos and tidbits from around the League and offer my two cents as the season wears on. In the offseason, I write a Report Card for each player, and will keep you updated on all the news about the Caps through the summer. I'm glad you're here, and hope you come back!

Capitals to Face Rangers In First Round

Following Saturday night's loss to the Florida Panthers, it became official that the Capitals will face off against the Rangers in the first round of the 2011 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs.  It looked for most of the day Saturday that the Caps would end up facing the Hurricanes, as Carolina controlled their own destiny, but they were crushed by the Lightning to eliminate their playoff chances.
The Capitals did not have a good year (to put it lightly) against the Rangers, going 1-2-1 against them, including a pair of brutal shutouts, one by a 6-0 score and another by a 7-0 score.  The Rangers are going to be a very tough opponent, make no mistake about that.  But more on that later.  For now, enjoy this video from that epic 2009 playoff series against the Rangers, which the Capitals won 4 games to 3.
