Welcome!

Welcome to Caps 'Round the Clock, a blog covering the Washington Capitals and the NHL. In season, I update the Blog after every practice and on game day with Caps news and information, and then provide a recap and analysis after each contest. I also write a periodical Prospect Watch and weekly feature pieces on the state of the Men in Red and other things Capitals. And of course, I will post videos and tidbits from around the League and offer my two cents as the season wears on. In the offseason, I write a Report Card for each player, and will keep you updated on all the news about the Caps through the summer. I'm glad you're here, and hope you come back!

Practice: Apr. 11

The Washington Capitals were on ice this morning at 10:30 AM as they prepare for this week's first round playoff series with the New York Rangers.  Some updates from Kettler Capitals Iceplex:

All of the Capitals on the active roster skated once more, with the exception of Dennis Wideman.  Tom Poti was first out on the ice again and took some early work, but still has no timetable for return.  Mike Green skated on a pairing with John Erskine and took some healthy contact. According to Bruce Boudreau, he is ready for game one.  Boom.
The lines were as follows: Ovechkin-Backstrom-Knuble, Sturm-Arnott-Semin, Laich-Johansson-Chimera, Hendricks-Gordon-Bradley, and King-Beagle-Fehr. This suprises me a bit; I would expect Fehr to be on a line of non-healthy scratch candidates.
Also of note out of Caps practice today is that veteran winger Mike Knuble has signed a one-year contract extension to remain with the team through the 2011-2012 season.

That's all for now.  More coming this afternoon.
Information from Sky Kerstein was used in this post.
