Welcome!

Welcome to Caps 'Round the Clock, a blog covering the Washington Capitals and the NHL. In season, I update the Blog after every practice and on game day with Caps news and information, and then provide a recap and analysis after each contest. I also write a periodical Prospect Watch and weekly feature pieces on the state of the Men in Red and other things Capitals. And of course, I will post videos and tidbits from around the League and offer my two cents as the season wears on. In the offseason, I write a Report Card for each player, and will keep you updated on all the news about the Caps through the summer. I'm glad you're here, and hope you come back!

Updates From the Morning Skate

The Washington Capitals were on ice today at 11:30 AM for their morning skate before taking on the Panthers tonight.  Some updates from BankAtlantic Center:

The big news this morning is that Mike Green will in fact not return tonight after missing the better part of two months with a concussion.  This announcement comes on the heels of yesterday's practice, when Green said that he felt that he would play tonight.  But Bruce Boudreau does not want to risk his top man on defense and he will continue to practice this week before hopefully coming back for game one of the playoffs.
Michal Neuvirth has been confirmed as the starter for tonight's game.  He has won his last five starts.
Alex Ovechkin and Marco Sturm did not take the morning skate, but are expected (for now) to play tonight.  DJ King and Tyler Sloan both took the scratches skate, so they probably will not play tonight.  Other than that, the lineup is totally up in the air.

Game time is 7 P.M.  Check back after the game.
Information from Katie Carrera was used in this post.
