Welcome!

Welcome to Caps 'Round the Clock, a blog covering the Washington Capitals and the NHL. In season, I update the Blog after every practice and on game day with Caps news and information, and then provide a recap and analysis after each contest. I also write a periodical Prospect Watch and weekly feature pieces on the state of the Men in Red and other things Capitals. And of course, I will post videos and tidbits from around the League and offer my two cents as the season wears on. In the offseason, I write a Report Card for each player, and will keep you updated on all the news about the Caps through the summer. I'm glad you're here, and hope you come back!

Practice: Apr. 14

The Washington Capitals were on ice this morning at 11 for a practice following last night's thrilling 2-1 OT win over the Rangers.  Some updates from Kettler Capitals Iceplex:

Today was an optional practice, and many of the Caps' top forwards took the day off.  The following players skated: Varlamov, Alzner, Hendricks, King, Beagle, Chimera, Schultz, Bradley, Fehr, Erskine, Collins, Neuvirth, Carlson, and Green.
Of note here is that Mike Green was on the ice after not only playing almost 30 minutes last night, but also taking a few huge hits during the game.  He says he feels great and he looks like it too.  Welcome back, Greenie.
Also important here is that Tom Poti was not on the ice, and Bruce Boudreau said that he was sore from being worked so hard in the post-practice scratches skate yesterday.  Boudreau mentioned that Poti is getting close to being ready, but likely won't crack the lineup unless another Caps defenseman gets injured because he hasn't played in almost four months.  Fair enough.

That's all from a relatively quiet day at KCI.  More later today.
Information from Sky Kerstein was used in this post.
