Welcome!

Welcome to Caps 'Round the Clock, a blog covering the Washington Capitals and the NHL. In season, I update the Blog after every practice and on game day with Caps news and information, and then provide a recap and analysis after each contest. I also write a periodical Prospect Watch and weekly feature pieces on the state of the Men in Red and other things Capitals. And of course, I will post videos and tidbits from around the League and offer my two cents as the season wears on. In the offseason, I write a Report Card for each player, and will keep you updated on all the news about the Caps through the summer. I'm glad you're here, and hope you come back!

Practice: Mar. 5

The Washington Capitals were on ice at 11 AM this morning for their practice in Florida.  The practice was held at a suburban rink near Sunrise, and not at the Panthers practice facility.

Everyone on the trip was on the ice for practice after yesterday's optional skate saw nearly half the team take the day off.  This included Tom Poti and Eric Fehr, who are still working their way back from injuries that have kept them sidelined for longer than six weeks now.  Fehr could return at some point this weekend, but Poti is not expected to play barring some rapid improvement.  However, Poti has now skated fully two days in a row, which means that his cortisone shot is kicking in and he is feeling much better.

That's all for now.  Check back later.

Thanks to Mike Vogel for some information in this post.
