Welcome!

Welcome to Caps 'Round the Clock, a blog covering the Washington Capitals and the NHL. In season, I update the Blog after every practice and on game day with Caps news and information, and then provide a recap and analysis after each contest. I also write a periodical Prospect Watch and weekly feature pieces on the state of the Men in Red and other things Capitals. And of course, I will post videos and tidbits from around the League and offer my two cents as the season wears on. In the offseason, I write a Report Card for each player, and will keep you updated on all the news about the Caps through the summer. I'm glad you're here, and hope you come back!

Practice: Mar. 8

The Washington Capitals were on ice this morning at 11:30 AM for an optional practice following last night's 2-1 shootout victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning.  Some updates from Kettler Capitals Iceplex:

Both Tom Poti and Mike Green skated on their own at around 11:10 before joining their teammates for the full skate at 11:30; this was to presumably see how their injuries were feeling.  There were no updates on their possible return for tomorrow, however.  Besides those two players, Jason Chimera, Matt Hendricks, Matt Bradley, Tyler Sloan, Jeff Schultz, Karl Alzner, Eric Fehr, DJ King, John Carlson, Boyd Gordon, and Braden Holtby were out on the ice as well. As today was an optional day, there are no updates on Nicklas Backstrom or Michal Neuvirth, who both left last night's game with injuries. However, Bruce Boudreau did elaborate a bit on Neuvirth, saying he does expect him to be able to play tomorrow.  On Backstrom, Boudreau noted that he will receive treatment on his hand tomorrow before a decision is made on his status.
