Welcome!

Welcome to Caps 'Round the Clock, a blog covering the Washington Capitals and the NHL. In season, I update the Blog after every practice and on game day with Caps news and information, and then provide a recap and analysis after each contest. I also write a periodical Prospect Watch and weekly feature pieces on the state of the Men in Red and other things Capitals. And of course, I will post videos and tidbits from around the League and offer my two cents as the season wears on. In the offseason, I write a Report Card for each player, and will keep you updated on all the news about the Caps through the summer. I'm glad you're here, and hope you come back!

Around the NHL: Prayers for Patches

Folks, tonight I bring you the sad and the ugly of what the sport we love can bring. This evening saw young Montreal Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty knocked out when he was driven into a mid-ice turnbuckle by Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara.  I was watching this game and it gave me the chills to see such a thing. Thankfully, Pacioretty is conscious and is moving all of his limbs at a Montreal hospital, where he will remain for evaluation and monitoring.  The Canadiens won the game 4-1.
An incident like this puts things in perspective for all hockey fans.  We may root for different teams and have anger and animosity towards our opponents, the reality of it is that hockey is a game, and an extremely dangerous one at that. Please place Max Pacioretty in your thoughts.
